A standout moment came just two hours into the first A Day in the Gully, when a message landed on the festival’s Instagram calling it “the best festival I’ve been to” - one of more than 10 unsolicited DMs praising the event in real time.
Led by Danielle Jones and the SRO Events team, the goal was to transform Civic Park in Modbury into a large-scale live music venue and establish a new festival in Adelaide’s northern suburbs, targeting 5,000 attendees. Supported by the City of Tea Tree Gully, the event delivered national headliners to the region for the first time.
Our PR strategy, delivered alongside Sophie Chant (SCPR), focused on early lineup promotion and strong local engagement. The campaign secured 45+ media features, coverage across major outlets, national and community radio, and a cover story in The Note.
The result: attendance targets were doubled and audience feedback exceeded expectations - marking a strong debut for a new addition to South Australia’s summer calendar.
